Tottenham and Man Utd start talks with impressive €50m Lille midfielder


Manchester United and Tottenham are in talks with Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, 


The premier league clubs Manchester United and Tottenham are in active discussions to sign the 20-year-old in the January transfer window. 



The Ligue 1 side is understood to value the defensive midfielder at between €50m to €60m with the player's current deal still to run until June 2022.

Napoli, Real Madrid, and Valencia are also understood to have held preliminary talks with the France youth international, who has 22 game appearances so far.

Apparently, Lille is content with the possibility of a deal that would see soumare leave the club in January and then be loaned back until the season comes to an end.



Last month Jeunes Footeux Claimed that Jose Mourinho was set to look to Lille again for reinforcements in his playing squad next season - with two targets in mind.

Tottenham boss snapped up coaches Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos soon after arriving at the club - using his good relationship with Lille director Luis Campos.

Striker Vicor Osimhen was also part of the contract, four years on from initial links with spurs, due to his ability to play either as a winger or  striker

While the new manager at Tottenham Jose Mourinho was also said to be keen on Soumare, who has also been a key component for third-placed Lille this season as they battle for a European place.



Meanwhile, Man Utd coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to strengthen his squad next month.
As per the sun newspaper,

United boss Solskjaer will be handed up a minimum of £250m to spend, with that budget set to rise dramatically amid heightening claims the star midfielder Paul Pogba will be allowed to leave the club for £150million.

The Daily Mail Newspaper has claimed Man Utd have launched enquires for both Saul Niguez and Donny van de Beek,

but both players will not come cheap and Soumare is understood to be a possible alternative to both of those midfield generals.
